Cape Burkhan national park realization

The winning proposal for international competition for the design and strategic development plan of Cape Burkhan National park on Baikal lake has entered the executive phase with the installation of the first set of park furniture and storytelling trail. Three souls of Olkhon, the project developed by Sergio Romeo and Anastasia Kucherova, is inspired by the threefold nature of cape Burkhan: its natural, spiritual and ethnographic aspects which characterize this unique place. Cape Burkhan has long been an attraction for the people devoted to shamanism and buddhism, a beautiful natural monument and a constant presence in the life of aborigens, buryat people living on Olkhon island.

In July 2021 a team of volunteers coordinated by the Give Life to the planet NPO has come to Cape Burkhan in order to check the process of regeneration of the vegetation, thanks to the new paths network traced last year and install the first information and leisure devices, such as storytelling panels and panoramic viewpoints.
